On this luxurious eight-hour tour, you’ll be escorted around some of the Barossa Valley’s best wineries and other attractions in a modern and comfortable limousine. Have a fantasy about making your own wine, you can on this tour!
With pickup at around 9:30 am from your Adelaide, Adelaide Airport and ort Adelaide accommodation, as well as a later pickup from Barossa Valley accommodations, you’ll board your luxurious, air-conditioned limousine and set off on your journey towards the Barossa Valley.
Once there, you’ll visit the indulgent ChocoVino experience at the beautiful Hahndorf Hill Winery. Here, you’ll be treated to some mouth-watering chocolate treats, matched with amazing wines that complement the chocolates perfectly. Centred on the concept of terroir, this delectable experience is designed to take you on a journey of the senses, while simultaneously teaching you about chocolate and wine in a relaxed manner. You’ll enjoy all this while taking in the stunning views of the vineyard from the glass-walled ChocoVino room. If you’re not a wine drinker, you’ll still be able to participate, as there is a chocolate-only option.
You’ll visit the famous Penfolds Cellar Door for the opportunity to create your own wine blend, with the ‘Make Your Own Blend’ experience at the Winemakers’ Laboratory. With help from Penfolds’ friendly winemaking guides, you’ll learn a little about the winemaking process and history before trying your hand at creating your own perfect blend of Grenache, Shiraz or Mourvedre. When you’re happy with your creation, you will receive a bottle – labelled ‘Assistant Wine-Maker’ – to take home and share. While at Penfolds, you will also get to try a number of superb wines at a private wine tasting.
Maggie Beer’s Farm will delight you, with its amazing food and fresh produce – in fact; you can sample almost all of the products available within the farm shop! Enjoy delicious foods and tasty coffee as you take in the beautiful surrounds, where ‘The Cook and the Chef’ was filmed. For even more fresh produce, you’ll shop at the Barossa Farmers Market, where you’ll find a variety of farm foods, arts, crafts and other goodies. The amazing Whispering Wall is also another exciting attraction. This dam wall is 140 metres long and whispers are audible from one side to the other.
The fascinating Herbig Tree is well worth a visit. This tree – with its huge, thick trunk – once housed the Herbig family, who lived within its wooden walls to save money on rent or building costs while they paid off the cost of their land. When the Herbig’s had their second child, they decided the tree was too small, so decided to build a hut instead. Finally, the Menglers Hill Lookout will awe you with its sweeping views over the patchwork of colours that make up the Barossa Valley.
At the end of the day, your limousine will escort you back to your accommodation, arriving at around 6 pm.
Snacks and drinks are provided along the journey.
Admission fees are included in all Tours unless stated otherwise.
With our personal relationships with the wineries you will enjoy FREE wine tastings (premium tastings not included).
