The Bellarine Taste Trail has more than 40 gourmet experiences, including boutique wineries, breweries, and lots of local producers of cheese, olive oil, mussels, fruit and vegetables. Little seaside villages boast excellent cafes and restaurants, there’s glorious coastal scenery and lots of peaceful countryside. Your tour includes a visit to Narana Indigenous Cultural Centre, an outstanding winery, lunch at a winery café, plus brewery tour and tasting.
An easy drive takes you first to Geelong, the Bellarine’s thriving seaside city. Explore the spectacular waterfront that’s famous for the Bollard Trail, with 104 carved and painted wooden bollards, the beautifully restored 1892 Geelong Carousel and historic beach promenade.
Then it’s off for a beach walk at the bustling seaside centre of Barwon Heads and then on to some serious sipping and sampling. Your tour includes a tasting at one of the top Bellarine Peninsula wineries, Terindah Estate, which boasts panoramic views across Corio Bay; lunch is at unrivaled Jack Rabbit Vineyard, with a wine tasting.
Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong is one of Victoria’s most famous boutique brewers, and it’s run by a fun bunch of self-confessed hopheads. You’ll explore the brewery on a 30-minute tour, followed by a beer tasting before returning to the city.
* Tour concludes in the late afternoon at Bunyip Tours office at 570 Flinders Street or at Little Creatures if fishing in Geelong.
