How the Tours To Go board works
Tours To Go reads Australia by season before it shows you anything to book. This page explains where the readings come from and how tours reach a page.
Where conditions come from
The board covers 8 climate regions, because weather does not stop at a state line. Each region carries a twelve-month profile built from published sources: Bureau of Meteorology seasonal definitions, declared park closure periods, and long-established migration and flowering dates.
There are also 8 activity windows: the humpback migration, the Ningaloo whale sharks, the declared snow season, the Top End wet-season road closures. Each one is attached to the activity, so it only appears where that activity happens.
A reading is regional guidance. It can tell you whether February is a sensible month for the reef. It cannot tell you whether Tuesday will be windy, so confirm with the operator before you travel.
How tours reach a page
Listings come from the live Tours To Go operator index. A tour appears on a destination page only if it sits inside that destination’s working radius, which runs from 20 km for a village to 400 km for a reef system. That is what keeps Brisbane operators off the Cairns page.
Facets work the same way. There are 39 of them across 97 destinations, and a tour is matched to one only when the operator’s own name, description or listed features support it. Some facets come back empty, and they are left that way.
Ratings, prices and history
The domain has been publishing since 2006. The business behind it is new, and the previous owner’s reviews and reputation did not come with it.
There are no ratings or review counts here, because none have been collected. Prices are the operator’s own; where one has not published a fare, the page says so.
For tour operators
Listings are drawn from the Tours To Go operator index. If your business is missing, listed incorrectly, or you would like your seasonal windows recorded properly, get in touch and we will correct the record.
Bookings currently hand off to each operator’s own reservation system. Tours To Go may earn a commission on bookings made through those links, and every such link is marked.
