Tour Description
Awesome Beaches – Australian Wildlife - Unspoilt Environment – Unique Lakes
For us locals, Stradbroke Island is by far the most popular Island off Brisbane but has yet to be discovered by visiting tourists. The second largest sand island in the world it is 32 km long and has everything to provide the visitor with a unique and memorable experience of Brisbane and Australia.
So what makes Stradbroke so special? It is so close to Brisbane (only 50 minutes by ferry) yet it has some of Australia’s best beaches, a spectacular rocky headland, unique natural features, and is a genuine wilderness destination. There is still a strong aboriginal presence on the Island with the traditional owners, the Quandamooka people, actively involved in the Island’s management. Finally the waters are home to large schools of dolphin, manta rays, and turtles – all of which can be seen from the Headland. A bonus is that in Winter, Point Lookout is considered to be Australia’s best land-based vantage point for spotting the migrating Humpback Whale.
Your guided eco tour to Stradbroke Island includes:
• Return bus and ferry transfers to Stradbroke Island. The cruise across Moreton Bay is a tour in itself!
• A refreshing swim in Brown Lake with its pure white beaches and its Ti Tree oil stained waters. You could come back from this tour looking 10 years younger!
• Walk the Gorge. This fantastic walk around the headland includes some spectacular scenery. Get you cameras ready for the “blow” from Whale Rock or that iconic beach shot.
• Spot the wild life. Stradbroke has large colonies of koala. Kangaroos can often be seen lazing in the sun. In its crystal clear waters, an abundance of marine life that can be easily spotted.
