Overview:
Discover the highlights of South Australia’s premier nature-based tourism destination, Kangaroo Island. Experience the amazing Seal Bay where you’ll get up close to nature as the wild Australian Sealions frolic and laze about on this stunning beach. Walk through Hanson Bay Sanctuary and look for Koalas nestled up in the Eucalypts. Explore Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch in the Flinders Chase National Park where you will also see the rugged southern coastline. This tour enables those short on time to experience the key attractions on Kangaroo Island.
Itinerary:
Early morning pick up from your Adelaide hotel for a scenic coach trip to Cape Jervis to connect with SeaLink’s ferry for the 45 minute crossing to Kangaroo Island. On arrival onto Kangaroo Island enjoy the scenic drive to the Seal Bay Conservation Park. Here you can walk on the beach amongst a colony of rare and wild Australian Sea Lions with a National Parks Ranger. Travel to Vivonne Bay Bistro for a delicious two-course lunch. Your next stop will see you walking among eucalypts looking for Koalas at Hanson Bay Sanctuary. Spend the afternoon at Flinders Chase National Park, renowned as a sanctuary for native Australian animals including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and echidnas. The tour of the park will take you to the rugged southern coastline for a walk on Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch. Remarkable Rocks provides great photographic opportunities and stunning sea views. Admiral’s Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal this spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery and safe haven for playful New Zealand fur seals. There is also a possibility that you will see kangaroos and wallabies before returning to Penneshaw for your return trip back to Adelaide.
