Tour Description
Recently voted one of the 'Top 10 Zoos in the World" by AOL, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane, Australia, is the world's first and largest koala sanctuary, with over 130 koalas. Cuddle a koala anytime, handfeed kangaroos and encounter a large variety of Aussie wildlife, all in beautiful, natural settings. Brisbane's premier tourist attraction is only 50 minutes from the Gold Coast. Only 15 minutes from Brisbane city centre. All set in on the scenic brisbane river in beautiful natural settings.
Lorikeet Feeding
The wild lorikeets lucky enough to live around Lone Pine get to enjoy a special lorikeet mix at feeding times. This complete nectar provides the birds with a healthy meal of oats, cereals, vitamins and minerals to supplement their natural diet.
Sheep Dog Show
Make sure you check out Lone Pine's Aussie sheep dog show, held 3 times a day, inside the Nature Kingdom. See the amazing skills of the hardworking sheep dogs as they command the sheep around the paddock for their master, responding to finely tuned whistles, calls and hand signals.
Snake Holding
Come and meet one of our scaley friends and their keeper at the daily snake presentation at 13:30. The audience are encouraged to ask lots of questions and come and feel the smooth scales of our cool pythons at the end of the talk.
Kangaroo Feeding
In the 2 hectare (5 acre) Kangaroo reserve, over 130 kangaroos and wallabies hop about eagerly awaiting their daily hand-feeding by visitors.
Koala Hugs
There is no place on earth that you will enjoy an encounter with Koalas like that presented at Lone Pine. With 130 adult koalas and new joeys (baby koalas) emerging all year round, two keeper shows a day, and koala cuddles and photos all day long, you will not leave disappointed.
Cuddle a koala and have your photo taken ANY TIME of the day!
Our motto is: "The earth is not only for humans"
