It all lives in an area that takes up 0.2% of the landmass of Australia.

Join us as we discover the natural beauty and wonder of this World Heritage Listed region by mountain bike and 4WD.

TROPICS TO THE OUTBACK

2009 Departure Dates: 05-12 August
Queensland's Outback has it all; from rollicking stockmen, to quiet fishing spots, to desert sand dunes, and even the odd dinosaur.

Alice Springs is an iconic Outback town, surrounded by a red dessert the size of Europe and framed by the MacDonnell Rangers. Its history is populated by a colourful cast of characters that includes old-diggers, Outback pioneers, Afghan cameleers and of course the Indigenous Australians who have called this place home for thousands of years.

Take a journey through this vast and varied part of Australia, where open spaces and big blue skies frame tiny towns and the many characters who inhabit them.
