We recently took a trip to Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays for 4 days and fit in as much adventure as we could. I’m no photographer by any means but the Whitsundays makes it so easy! With over 74 Islands on the Great Barrier Reef and some of the most stunning beaches in Australia you could take the worst camera you have and still come back with photos you love. We did a few of the top Whitsundays Tours and some of the lesser known adventures as well as sampling the free things to do and the culinary delights of the area. Below are some of the places we saw, things we did and experiences we had along with some tips about each place that we picked up on the trip.
Pro Tip: take mosquito spray. It’s on the way to Proserpine and there are 2 turn offs you need to take and a little dirt road. It’s well signed and well worth the drive.
Pro Tip: The Panorama Tour stops at the reef so you can go snorkelling. It also stops at Whitehaven Beach for an hour.

Pro Tip: Talk to the bar staff and ask for a photo behind the bar. They’ll let you in there for a photo if they’re feeling good. Fish Divine is sensational, I’d heard they did the best Mojitos in the world and obviously I haven’t tried all the Mojitos in the world but so far this is the best I’ve had! The seafood and other meals were exceptional too.
